What has slowly gotten better?

If you go to his twitter right now, the last couple days are full of retweets from the self proclaimed "dark web intellectuals" of the alt right about a set of Guardian articles about the white people, particularly women, use their uncomfortableness around ethnic minorities to create situations that are discriminatory or dangerous to those minority individuals(ie. the university tour incident, the black men ejected from Starbuck's, and a whole bunch of other anecdotes of similar experiences shared by people on twitter.)

Now, they happen to framing this as a sexist issue that they are naturally the victims of, as in, 'how sexist of the Guardian to delegitimize the emotions of white women.' It's not unnoticeable that he immediately comes to the aid of white people supposedly being discriminated against, but is silent on everything else. He also just called a manipulative alt-right blog a "high quality online newspaper."

It's funny to me that one of his 12 fundamental rules for being a good person is "9. Assume that the person you are listening to might know something you don't," but that that never seems to extend to hearing out what black people say about their experiences.
