What is something that needs to be said?

100% disagree - you'd be homogenizing the world's countries and cultures under one banner and placing an inordinate amount of power into a small group who will inevitably be out of touch with the regional issues of the populace and probably overwhelmed.

It will flatten culture around the world and make government lack any meaningful checks and balances, which will inevitably draw in corruption. I definitely see it trending towards dictatorship. The world is better off by having a diverse group of entities, who can better reflect and represent their own regional issues and culture. With multiple entities progress is better obtained - one entity can try something new and be a leader for the others. When it is all grouped together progress is always compromised and people don't get to see the differences first hand. Can you imagine how exploited underrepresented regions in government would be? Just imagine Russia or China or the US government being in charge of world politics right now without any competition or oversight.

You can still understand and love another country as an individual without having to take control of it.
