What is something that you own that you may never need, but you have it anyway for a “just in case” scenario?

I keep a pretty well stocked first aid and tourniquet kit in my cars. I make sure everything is valid yearly but aside from the narcan nothing really has expired. Never used anything from it. I almost did but the firefighter EMT dad for the other team helped out first and dropped everyone's panties along the way as they turned a crying kid covered in blood into a clean and laughing bandaged kid. And didn't even get dirt or anything on their tight shirt or tighter pants.

I keep a mall ninja grappling hook in my car trunk as well. It's actually been useful dozens of times. It's been used to make a makeshift leash for lost dogs, hold stuff to the car, grab bikes from ditches. Most recently I rescued a foam airplane from a tree. I was able to throw it up to the branch and wiggle it enough to get it for the kids who then threw it right back in the tree.
