What is something your family thinks you love that you lost interest in years ago?

My wife. We have been 'married' for coming up 24 years this June, but our marriage ended years before - I haven't the heart to tell my 89 year old mum. Back when we first started going out back in 1986, we both worked for the same company and that is how we met. We eventually started going out and she was the first real girlfriend I ever had.

I never really had that much money growing up, and neither did she but her dad was rather wealthy - just a tight arse. I only had about £400 total savings to my name, but she had a little more, a few thousand. The best thing was, this girl, the 21 year old cute bank clerk was willing to share her money with me. We opened up a joint bank account and I put in my £400 and she put in her money. We used that (bearing in mind this was 1986 and we both had jobs) to put a deposit down on a small one-bed flat and bought ourselves some kitchen equipment etc, as one does when they move to their first home. Her parents rightfully thought she was mad jumping into something (me) as quickly and extreme as she did, but I loved her for it.

When you're kids and together, it's the best, you have no worries and we had none. We got married in 1991, and had our first kid in 1994. We were still using the joint bank account that we had opened all those years ago to continue funding her lives, but we both also had our own savings accounts that we put money in from our respective jobs if anything major happened.

That's when it happened. She came to me one day telling me her savings account was empty, and she needed some money put couldn't tell me what for. I asked her how much, and she said about tree fiddy. That's when I remembered my wife was about 500 feet tall and from the paleolithic era, and that OP should have used a serious tag.
