What do working parents do with their kids after school/during breaks/in-service days? (non-Covid times)

Shouldn't you have thought all that stuff through long before now? i know my kids school had an afterschool daycare in an adjacent building but that was before coronavirus. working parents dont revolt because every person in this country is 100% disposable and someone else with more kids that doesnt care as much about them will do your job while leaving the kids to fend for themselves. the system is fucked. your employer doesnt care about anyone or anything beyond generating endless revenue that you wont get a fair share of. Do you have friends or family that could fill the two hour gap for you? Maybe a neighbor girl in highschool looking to make a little cash babysitting for a few hours here and there?
