What is your "I was only gone for 5 minutes" story?

One of the first timers I ever got to watch my middle brother turned out awfully. I think I was around 10 at the time and my brother seven. All I had to do was keep him from dying while my mother ran to the store for groceries to cook dinner that night. Of course, my brother decided that he could sneak in a little Raman before dinner, and being the cool older brother i am, I allowed him to not only do that but attempt to make it himself for the first time. While in the bathroom I hear a scream and immediately know something's went wrong. My brother had spilled scalding water on himself while reaching up to the microwave to retrieve his bowl of noodles; right at the moment I bust in the kitchen to find this, my mom comes in the frontdoor to find me with my pants around my ankles and my brother screaming bloody murder with noodles draped all over his face. Shit just went downhill from there. My mom yells for me to get Dad and immediately channels her focus on my brother. My Dad was at work, and my mom assumed I was going to "get" him on the phone. I misunderstood. My ten year old self saw a moment to be a hero, and took it. I hop on my bike and proceed to get extremely lost within ten minutes trying to navigate to my Dad's place of employment that was about half a mile away. Luckily a neighbor driving by recognized me as not being where I should and gave me a ride home. Usually my parents would've been furious at me for something like that, but they were just relieved my brother and I weren't dead I guess.
