Whatever you hear or read today, try not to learn anything about the gunman. If the start talking about him, turn it off. Don't make him the Star of this story. RIP Reporter Alison Parker (24) and Cameraman Adam Ward (27).

I love reddit and love browsing through stories. I find reddit is the best way to see news unfiltered versus what we see on the news where there is a "frame of reference" for the audience to see. I barely comment and this is one of those rare times I will comment. Here are my thoughts and questions for you all to think about:

-First, The Redditor posts and states "Don't make him the Star of this story". I'm not choosing any sides, but how do we know that the gunner (Bryce Williams) intent is to be a star? From the articles online, it might suggest that Bryce Williams was a victim of bullying from Alison and Adam (until more information is out).

-Second, notice how the media portrays one side of the story in the positive light of Alison Parker and Adam Ward. If the first premise is true (if they do find evidence that Bryce Williams was a victim of bullying from Alison and Adam), then ironically the media is really making a star of Alison and Adam, and goes back to these issues of representing equality in the media. In fact, I haven't seen any black folks comment on the on issue, only white folks on the news.

-Third, and lastly, I came to reddit to read stories from an unbiased perspective. It's really surprising that this post got upvoted because it feels like the post is a "frame of reference" for how we should see the issue, much like the news. We don't have all the facts and already the media and reddit has painted who is good and who is bad in the tragedy (Drawing conclusions without all the facts).

Nevertheless, I hope that reddit does not become the news we watch on TV. I like my news unfiltered, unbiased, and empirically supported. It's a tragedy on all victims, yet it's not portrayed that way at all in the news or reddit. Just my two cents about issue. Feel free to ask questions and comment.
