When I was maybe 14 or so, I was walking my dog and it started raining so I began running home. My dog decided it was the perfect time to cross the road and ran across me, causing me to literally flip, land hip-first on the pavement and skid several metres. Cue an elderly driver reversing out of his driveway right onto one of my outstretched hands, squashing my little finger and one other finger. As soon as he realised he stopped immediately and apologised profusely but I was so embarrassed I jumped up and ran after my dog.

Got home 5 minutes later drenched, with an awful bloody gash across my hip and two squashed, bruised fingers. I was so humiliated and honestly thought my parents wouldn't believe me because it was such a ridiculous series of events, so I just said I tripped (not technically lying). My fingers were actually fine, but I still have a scar on my hip.
