What's the dumbest thing you've ever heard someone say?

The ending is glorious.

For years, my grandfather would make seemingly reasonable statements about animals, math, politics, the weather, whatever. He was a 7th generation pig farmer who hailed from a long line of I-dont-know-what farmers, but was also first one in our family to go to college and earn a degree (B.S Agriculture). He would straight face, and my grandmother would smile in response. Nobody else batted an eye, even further questions were asked, and he would of course answer. In complete bullshit!

What is terrible is that it took me 22 years to figure it out (I am 25) One day he said something I just knew to be untrue, and I said 'what the hell, pa?' Both he and my grandmother erupted into the most explosive, genuine, and just obnoxiously hilarious cackles I have ever heard in my life. I called him out, and asked if he had always been doing this, and he replied with an uproarious YES! My grandmother has now spat her sweet tea on to the floor and is holding back tears. She is grabbing her sides and just doubling over. I start laughing because their reaction was so wild, and the realization that my grandfather has been trolling all of us for God knows how long, and that my grandmother silently went along with it, was just too much too handle. We are all mow more adept in google-fu as a result. :)
