By the phrase "paint it all" I meant that the way they handled criticism implied it was all bigoted, though they never explicitly said it was all bigoted. This is quite subjective, so I understand if you or /u/Oreska disagrees with me, but the way they mentioned homophobic comments constantly while failing to acknowledge genuine concerns about politics seemed to that all the opposition was driven by underlying homophobia. Their comments with Vice certainly didn't help this, and it was made 100x worse by the fact that whenever someone asked about politics, Mod Mat K just replied with "it's not politics", as if we're just red necks who are opposed to gays. All of his replies to concerns like this read like he was talking down to us. Again, I understand this is 100% subjective and I understand if you two disagree with how I feel.

A simple "I understand players have genuine concerns about politics being in the game, but we're doing the event anyway" would have been enough for me personally. Instead he only ever mentions hateful backlash.
