What's the most obvious sexual advance you've missed because you were naive?

Had been living with a woman while we both finished the same program in school, while her husband had moved across the country to start a new job. I rented out the guest room. She professed her catholicism so I thought there were conservative social boundaries I should respect and truly thought of her as a no-nonsense, "good" girl. She was very pretty, smart, and we were doing the same thing in school so.. I had a crush at the very least.

When I finally moved out, it was on or near my birthday (this was all ten years ago). I packed and prepared to leave a night early; to this news, she was visibly dismayed. Her: "I thought you were staying another night.. I got you a birthday present." Me: "Oh thank you very much!"

She hands me a six pack of beer with a card that is shaped like a can of beer, with a small tab sticking out of the side that reads "sex". The inside of the card reads, "All you need for a good birthday is some beer," and then on the next page, "with some sex on the side."

I giggle, continue departing pleasantries, and hit the road. About an hour later I'm getting coffee at a gas station and think, "DAMN."

Accidently did the right thing I guess, and I'm still not absolutely sure it was an advance.
