This will probably get buried but here goes. When I was really young (say 4/5 years old) my mom made me rice and veggies for lunch. I didn't particularly want to eat the veggies but I mixed them with the rice in hopes that the food would taste better. It did not. My mom was watching me so I took two spoonfuls to show her that I'd eat it. She then went to the kitchen for a bit. I take this opportunity and bolt. About an hour later when I wander back into the dining room, my mom is sitting at the table waiting patiently for me. She makes me count the grains of rice I've wasted. Yep, grains of rice. I couldn't count past 15 or so at that age and I remember sitting there for four hours until I started crying saying I would never waste food again.
