I worked with a career Army enlisted guy for about a year. He did 20 and retired and still worked his ass off because of divorces and a $700 truck note. Anyway, this guy never had to deploy because his dad was a General and later worked for DoD. He did four years in an Arty unit in the 90s and then his daddy got him the cushiest job in recruiting, driving around the country in a truck and going to huge events getting to do all kinds of cool shit for the rest of his career.

Dude was unbearable. All of his "war stories" were about him being the coolest guy in the office and calling his dad whenever he got in trouble. He must have had 10 different stories about standing up to an evil superior who did him wrong and him making phone calls. Fucking weirdo.
