This one restaurant I used to work at was the most racist place I'd ever set foot in. Basically everything they said had me thinking, "Damn they're racist." They used to complain about serving black people and even had a codeword for them and some would tell the hostess not to seat black people in their section. They even complained about black people to black people on the staff.. it was not a nice work environment. I guess the worst was when one of my coworkers said right to my face, "I fuckin hate n*****s." After all the other racism I'd witnessed, I don't know why that surprised me so much, but I was speechless after she said it. I stayed as long as I did to spite the management (they wanted to fire me, but couldn't because I was pregnant and they didn't want to seem discriminatory), but I was not sorry to leave when it was finally time to do so.
