I've watched reddit drool over Ronda Rousy for the longest time with ... how skilled she is, and how better she is than the other women, then literally the next day after she lost that championship fight, all of reddit turned on her.

Counter-argument: Isn't it a good thing that, once presented with demonstrative evidence that Rousey wasn't, in fact, better than all the other women, that people re-evaluated their prior opinion regarding her?

Just saying - she was the champ for a long, long time. Seems reasonable that people who don't know much about the sport would think she's probably head and shoulders above the rest?

(Kind of like how I assume Bryce Harper is a great baseball player, based solely upon sports news coverage, since I don't actually watch baseball).
