Black couple sues after they say home valuation rises nearly $300,000 when shown by White colleague

Not everything bad is due to race…

100% this. Their "whitewashing" changed the look of the house more than just the faces on the people. They cleaned the house, removed all the children's paintings (were there just paper hanging on the wall or where they actually painted on the wall), etc. Not a full like to like.

Also, I want more facts instead of just whining. This was sufficient evidence to get a court to pull all the appraisals from the first appraiser. If he always dropped prices 10% for a busy street, then that "fact" they say should have been 2% isn't due to race, simply the appraiser. You can't audit between different people, you have to pull and see did the appraiser do different across all his work, which should be easy based on some facts they gave.

Finally, I know people that work in these fields. The "high ups" at banks constantly change appraisal firms. Why, because each firm has a "known" reputation of being either aggressive or conservative. When banks want to take risk they contract with the aggressive firm, and vice versa.

The piece is just rag, it should have told them to wait until court is done and the journalist, that didn't do their job gets the additional facts that would make this a slam dunk. Like where are their receipts/pictures to PROVE that the first appraisers mark down for no updates in 15 years was false (oh those seem to be missing).
