When did you realise your friend was toxic?

I guess I had never realized how horrible she was. My sister did, though. She said she was awful. I don't really remember her being awful. I've always invited her to my birthday. We'd wait for her mom to reply, me already making up plans. "She said she doesn't want to come." Ok, that's cool, I guess. I've never been invited. Her excuse? "I don't think you'd be comfortable around new people". I guess she just had better friends. I guess she got too old for me. She'd always tell me to "stop following her". I know you're probably thinking "oh nooo, you've never been invited", but that kind of hurt. I have better friends, and she has better friends. I'd rather have her tell me she didn't wanna hang out, instead she decided to slowly drift away. Also, everything had to go her way.
