Where is the most normal place you have encountered a celebrity?

I walked into a crowded bar with some friends and after a while managed to score some bar stools at the bar. As we sat down we noticed that someone had left their purse on the coat hooks under the bar. We asked around but it didn't belong to anyone around us so we let kept and eye out for its owner.

After some time this short middle-aged dude enters the bar from outside to retrieve it. We make some jokes with him about how it's his color and matches his outfit - he was amused and offered a few comments of his own.

After he left I realized it was David Brooks.). Not a huge celebrity, if you've seen him at all it's probably on PBS Newshour.

A few years ago in the evening during the week I was walking past the Comedy Cellar in NYC and glanced down a stairwell that led below the street level. I immediately recognized Ben Bailey. "BEN BAILY!" I said, and kept walking. "How the heck did recognize me that quickly??" I hear from the stairs. I turned around and walked the few steps back and said something like "on my flat screen TV your face is about the same size as it is right now when you're standing at the bottom of those stairs, so it wasn't difficult.

Also one day I was running along the west side highway and thought my friend katie was running towards me so I stopped her when we got close. She stopped and I said "hey!...." and then saw it wasn't Katie - it was Jennifer Carpenter, whom I think is hot. But I only realized this after we started running our separate directions again.
