I’m an E5. Most of us in my company are pretty chill about things. Sometimes smokings happen but it’s never just constant shitting on joes. Most of us have one issue with one E5. He’s an absolute Dick to the joes. He will talk louder than them to sound right even though most of the E4s are more knowledgeable than him. He will also smoke them for so much as accidentally dropping a pencil when he’s in a bad mood.
Once, another E5 absolutely decked the guy for smoking one of his joes for just sounding like he had an attitude.
In day to day life he’s a 30 year old man washing dishes as a Bdubs with a wife who’s cheating on him that he won’t leave.
The worst part is most of the current senior E4s, and fresh E5s have spent our entire careers with this guy. As soon as he got the stripes he just went full dickhead.
It’s tiresome just trying to keep shit from rolling down hill on the joes with just one Dick head E5 as a co worker. Glad I’m not in a whole company of them. Other than one E6 who isn’t responsible for him, none of the other outranking NCOs even try to stop this man. I don’t know how many fucking times I’ve told my E6 and my PLT SGT that this guy just smokes the joes because his wife’s boyfriend visited the night before. It’s not even a joke or a gag, it’s the fucking pathetic truth.
