Who is currently on the wrong side of history?

I think in the coming years Turkey will remain relatively secular, but go pretty quickly off the deep end with the police state stuff. As in; you won't be thrown in jail for not wearing a hijab, but if [...]

This right here. I am so sick of hearing the same things over and over for the last 15 years, only to see each year that nothing changes. Reddit just has this blind hatred towards Erdogan. Thinking Turkey used to be a great peaceful country and Erdogan just decided one day to ruin it.

You claim we are becoming a police state, but we just recovered from being a police state. You claim we will be arresting women without hijabs, but we used to arrest women with hijabs just a few decades ago. Journalist are being arrested for being critical, but the reason this didn't happen in the past is because journalist weren't able to do that at all...

Side note: And besides of being critical, there have been journalist leaking the blueprints of Erdogans old house with the headline "In case of someone wants to assassinate the president, here is something usefull ". And similar things like that. (A lot more then being critical if you ask me...)

That 'democracy' Erdogan is ruining according to most, was there in the first place anyways. Erdogan has done a lot of changes (mostly to join the EU), but Turkey just got one excuse followed by another one. This just made the government say "Fuck it, we are doing it our way again"...

Anyways, I am going off-topic here. Just wanted to make this clear (even if I get downvotes): Turkey has become much better under Erdogan, and it still is way better then what we have seen in the last 60 years...

Excuses for any typos. Am on mobile currently
