Who out there owns a GT86/FRS/BRZ?

I bought my Scion FRS back in December 2012, and over the years I have put on new coilovers, a catback exhaust, 18x9.5" wheels, and a centrifugal supercharger (the Jackson Racing kit). The extra power meant I needed more grip, the wider wheels meant I needed smaller springs, and the exhaust just sounds cool.

The car has been pretty low maintenance. Two common problems were cracked taillights from the factory which would become foggy after rainstorms, and the engine (specifically the high pressure fuel pump) would make a "chirping" noise, sometime referred to as "crickets". The crickets aren't a problem, and if your taillights ever get bad, you can just bring it to a dealership and they'll swap them out for a new set.

I really enjoy the car. I find it very comfortable on long trips, and while the interior is very plasticy, it doesn't look or feel cheap. It makes for a very nice daily driver, though the transmission is rather sporty, meaning that the clutch is a bit stiff and relatively more jerky compared to other manuals I've driven. It's really a two-person car, though I have managed to fit 4 adults in the car. It's acceptable, but if you find yourself carrying multiple passengers with any frequency, I'd suggest getting a larger car.

The stock engine is good, though I often found myself needing more low- and mid-range power which is why I opted for a supercharger ($5000 all-in). In stock form, you will notice a dip in torque at the lower end of the RPM range. Because of this, you need to be in higher revs if you want any real acceleration. The supercharger obviously fixed this issue.

My buying advice is to get one used. You can get a good deal since these cars really depreciate.

My fuel economy was about 28mpg in stock form, and around 26-28mpg with the supercharger.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
