Who thinks Pedro should just get off the ride in the DR and stay?

Bottom line Chantal and Pedro both need to decide if they're in a marriage or not. If they are, they both need to be adults and stop sharing private information that's only between them with their parents. Likewise, Chantal needs to stop letting her parents dictate anything about her relationship or marriage.

Pedro should have never talked to his mom about the prenup. Likewise, Chantal should have never told her parents what Pedro's mom said in a moment of anger.

They all should have known and been prepared for the vast differences from the US to the Dominican Republic. Her family did act very immature and privileged.

In some areas of the Dominican Republic, you can find a 3 br apartment for 14usd a month that look like his mom's apartment. It is in his culture to help his family especially if he has privileges that allow him to. While it would be interesting to know how much he is sending, if at a minimum of 14usd a month...I do not see being upset at a spouse for helping their mother be in better living conditions. So the fact Chantal likes to constantly bring up the bigger space is silly because it doesn't necessarily mean that he is spending much to help them. I'm also going to assume that they could find a way better deal for a place in the US with more room if they just relocated to a cheaper area. Likewise, she clearly had a new car and they're getting paid a minimum of 13k a episode so I doubt they are really hurting. If anything, this is drama for the sake of the show. The fact that Chantal decided to stir up drama by complaining to her family about him sending money and the gifts while sitting in his mom's home shows more of her immaturity. Chantal's family was happy to have any detail to further crucify Pedro and Pedro's family with. Chantal's mom clearly was just waiting to bring up past drama by trying to make a confrontation over the prenup thing. She also acted entitled to being the victim when Pedro's mom has a fair point...they treated her son like a villain out for a green card from the get go so her prenup reaction is hardly worth holding over her head.

Chantal's mom's major overreaction and jump to voodoo was over the top and really she just wanted a reason to leave. They were already leaving because they were mad about the gifts and apartment thanks to their daughter's sulking influence. So, they put out the first item that was done. No one said they had to eat it. Had they been respectful guests and waited for the whole meal to come out, they could have ate the many other dishes that came out and not even glanced at the crap they didn't like. But that wouldn't allow her mom to act offended so nope. Would they have went so far to curse the chicken? No. Pedro ate the stupid chicken. Could they have did it to be petty? Who knows, maybe. But if they wanted to be the more mature ones, they could have waited and ate other things. Likewise, just because she never made it for Chantal, doesn't mean she doesn't make it at all nor that she couldn't have just wanted to do something different/traditional for meeting the parents. Clearly her son eats it as he was enthusiastic to show Chantal's parents and plenty of parents make things that they themselves may not eat.

Putting aside the debate between the parents, the grandma was an isolated factor. For Chantal's parents to pretend to move on and then pull what they did at the grandma's house was a huge amount of disrespect. Their bigotry to the location and paranoia of intentions was offensive. For his grandmother and extended family to go to the efforts to welcome them was a total slap in the face for their behaviors.

Lastly Chantal knew what she was getting into marrying someone that would have no credit as an immigrant. So, yes, she had to finance it herself but clearly Pedro is making all the payments and hasn't missed it thus far. So, yes, he is buying her an expensive ring and she did get a new car. He clearly has money for video games and I'm sure they have even more than that. So her tantrums are hard to be sympathetic about.

I would be very upset as Pedro. I think this would definitely be the moment to call quits.

Ultimately though, I'm going to go with this has all be setup by the producers to be as dramatic as possible for the ratings.
