Who's the worst parent you've ever met?

When I was in the eighth grade, my friends and I worked together on a group project. We needed some extra time to work, so one of my friends invited the rest of us (it was a group of three) over to his house to finish it. He'd told us stories before about his parents, and they seemed... off, to say the least.

The day rolls around. I arrive, with the other friend arriving around 30 minutes later. We settle down to work, and do quite a bit for a few hours. We decide to take a break, so we told his parents and headed out for a walk.

Now, I don't know if they expected us to be quick or something, but we were out for about 30 minutes, if I remember correctly. We get back, head inside, and sit back down to work. Suddenly, the friend whose home we were in gets called into the next room. He leaves... and immediately we hear the mom screaming at him; calling him stupid and saying he's incapable of doing good work... because we went for a walk...? Seemed odd. After a minute of that, friend comes back looking, understandably, significantly less enthusiastic about our project.

Then the phone rings. The mom suggests I pick it up, because it might be from my parents or my other friend's parents. I do so, and it was actually their insurance company or something. The guy asks if I'm the owner of the house, and I say no and hand the phone to the parents.

The conversation basically went, "Hello, this is [name], is this the owner of the house?"

"No, but here they are."

And that was it. So after seeing the yelling and insults, the two of us that were visiting decided we felt pretty uncomfortable there, so we called his parents and headed home.

The next day at school the friend who we visited informs me that his parents never want me to come back, because I "tried to take their personal information" from the insurance guy.

TL;DR: Friend's parents yell and insult kid, suggest I pick up the phone in case my parents were calling, and then when it wasn't them, kick me out permanently for trying to get their personal information.
