With Divock ruled out for some time I hope that Benteke finally starts to shine.

1) Palace wasn't that long ago. He has scored one goal this year. Again, fact check. He has also played much less in a system that doesn't accommodate him. I don't believe I said he was merely a target man, nor did I base any analysis on his size. Actually Klopp tends to gravitate towards bigger forwards, and bigger players in general, but that doesn't mean Benteke is suited to his style of play. Honestly, I don't think I need to say much more than that Klopp clearly doesn't favour him. And I think Klopp knows who fits his own style of play than you or I do.

2) To your second point. Villa played the 4th most long balls in the league last season, and put in the average amount of crosses per game. So yeah, another instance that you're just making things up to support your point, as well as completely misrepresenting my point. I can only assume you've never seen Villa play last season if you think they utilized Benteke as a striker to put in behind. He was effective playing in a counterattacking side because he could hold the ball up and flick in on to midfielders running off him.

3) We play more crosses when Benteke is on the field than when we don't. Go take a look for yourself on whoscored. But you're on a real roll here. And I'm an idiot for thinking that we should purchase players to fit a certain system and to complement each other? Interesting.

4) Klopp didn't try to sign Benteke for Dortmund. There was interest but he decided against it. Again.. Factcheck. Lewandowski is a great example. I'm glad you pointed him out. He has always had that in his game, and improved over time as Klopp trained him to suit his system. Benteke has very few similar attributes to Lewandowski, who is basically the archetypal Klopp forward.

5) Bringing up one player who resurrected his Liverpool sets a precedent for us to persevere with every player in hope that we see the same thing? Nonsense. There is a cost with persevering with players. He takes away chances from other players, will possibly lose value by sitting on the bench, there is an opportunity cost in not purchasing a replacement, and his wages alone make him unsuitable to be a bench player. He is rightly behind Sturridge and Origi in the pecking order, and I don't see that ever changing. He'll do well elsewhere in a side that plays to his strengths, but that isn't here.
