It's not religion. It's Islam. This is bullshit. You can't put a label on a particular religion, condemning it as encouraging terrorism. Islamic extremists are created by acceptance of the idea that they will burn in hell for disobeying the "laws of Islam", while at the same time given a fucked up, misguided, and just plain wrong representation of what those laws are and what they mean. Does this mean that Islam=Terrorism? Of course not, it means assholes are going to create terrorists through exploitation of the combination of high population and poverty. Inherently, Islam promotes peace, but misinterpretation of Islamic principles leads to terrorism. The real problem doesn't lie with the religion of Islam itself, but rather with the difference in economic and political standings between the Western and Islamic world. The Muslim world today suffers from oppression, unemployment, corrupt political leaders, and most importantly an extreme lack of education. These factors, in combination with extremist groups promoting the idea that terrorism=reward push people to join the side that, in their eyes, can improve their life as fast as possible. Personally, I have nothing but hatred for the manipulative groups on a quest for power as well as the people like the woman in this article, ruining lives everywhere. At the same time though, I feel that it is important to understand that bad people create bad people, religion is just an empowerer. Islam is viewed by people like you as the cause of problems because of the amount of it's followers that are uneducated, with insanely impressionable minds. The root of the issues is the condition of the Muslim world, not the religion of Islam.
