[WP] Pitch a gritty reboot for a children's show.

3 of 3

Now with a fresh outlook on the future and all that jazz the kids go out to start trouble… Sort of they go to Dr. Blight’s research station and try to put her out of commission. They lay environmental-safe bombs around her complex and tell her to get out before they blow the place up.

The kids are attacked by Duke Nukem. They run away from the complex and Duke follows. The kids end up on the edge of a forest. Ma-Ti was told to stay behind with the Geo Cruiser and when they got back to the spot where they landed neither he, nor the Geo Cruiser were anywhere to be seen. They yell for help, they scream at the top of their lungs and Duke Nukem appears again to take them out.

After a bit of fighting hand-to-hand and getting slapped around pretty heavily the kids decide to call on the spirits within their rings. EARTH! WIND! WATER! FIRE!

The respective spirits pop out gang up on Duke. Duke becomes severely weakened in this fight and limps back to Blight’s complex as the kids cheer and congratulate each other on their victory.

Ma-Ti lands and the kids scold him for taking the Geo Cruiser on joy ride. Ma-Ti is sad he missed a fight.

The environmental-safe bombs are detonated but don’t do near enough damage to Blight’s complex to put her out of order.

The kids go back to the SEA base and regroup. They discuss other plans to finally take out Blight.

Ma-Ti gets the great idea that the police should know about what she’s doing.

They agree they need a government authority but police isn’t big enough. The EPA and FBI are thrown around. Kwame says he’ll make calls to see what they can do.

Kwame says that the EPA will be able to check out Blight’s complex to see if it is against government regulations, but they promise nothing since she’s been operating it for such a long time.

And Wheeler coins the name “Planeteers” in a sentence out of sarcasm, “so Planeteers… What are we going to do in the mean time? Sit her with our thumbs up our butt or kick some ass?”

Everyone looks at him puzzled and he reveals, “I figure if we’re going to be a group of heroes out to save the world we need some sort of collective name. We can’t be The Avengers, we’re not The X-Men or Super friends, we’re… Planeteers”.

They all agree it is actually a good idea. Wheeler adds, “and since I thought of all this, I should be the leader. Just call me Captain Planet.”

The group thinks it is a silly name and refuses to call him Captain Planet, much less to grant him the title of their leader.

Look! On the news! Blight’s had another accident. A lot of radiation has been leaked into the surrounding area.
The kids know they must react quickly to try and help so they go to their Geo Cruiser and move to Blight’s complex.

At the Complex, the Planeteers land a safe distance from the blast zone and don radiation-proof suits to get up-close-and-personal to Blight and Duke Nukem…

Little do they know Nukem feeds off of the radiation and grows much bigger, stronger, faster in this fight than in the previous altercations they’ve had with him.

The Planeteers arrive on the scene and see an unconscious Blight. They immediately rush in to pick her and carry her back to the Geo Cruiser to help her.

On their way back they’re ambushed by Nukem. He obviously needs her to be normal again.

Her body is dropped and the Planeteers attempt to fight him. They’re all quickly knocked to the ground and Nukem turns his back briefly to pick up Blight.

While his back is turned the kids release the spirits in their rings.

EARTH! FIRE! WIND! WATER! HEART!

Five spirits attack Nukem. Catching him off guard he’s knocked to the ground briefly. The kids pick up Blight and run the rest of the way back to the Geo Cruiser.

A fight between the five spirits and Nukem rages on. The spirits are weakened severely by his radioactive hits. They tell the kids that they must return to their rings to recover and they do, the kids lift off in the Geo Cruiser. Defeated, but not down for the count.

Back at the SEA base, Blight is still unconscious.

Then Duke Nukem comes crash into their base. Glowing brighter, at his tallest, at his weightiest, at his most radioactive…

The kids figure the spirits have had enough time to recover and they call them out again!

EARTH! FIRE! WIND! WATER! HEART! The five spirits fight again. But they’re slowly weakened… They retreat and hide with the kids while Duke Nukem trashes everything in the building looking for Blight (in the SEA basement is where she is).

The spirits come to the conclusion that maybe the spirits can physically team up into one super-spirit to take down Nukem. They all agree this is a good idea and the merging begins. After the merge the infamous Captain Planet stands before them.

“With our powers combined I’m certain we can take him down,” he says.

Kwame says to Wheeler, “look, he’s your Captain Planet.”

Captain Planet fights with Duke Nukem. The two are equals—almost. Captain Planet has an edge. They’re fighting around earthen elements. Nukem is far away from his precious radioactive material that feeds him.

Captain Planet starts out getting his ass kicked but Duke weakens and then Captain Planet uses his powers to his advantage to take out Duke for good.

Duke Nukem is ultimately killed while Blight is left in critical condition at the end.

The EPA does shut down and quarantine Blight’s compound. Blight is handed over to authorities.

The kids all thank Captain Planet for their help and ask if he’ll stick around.

He says, “of course I will. The worst is not yet over. I’ll be here until the job is finished.”

“We can’t do it without you,” says Kwame.

“No,” says Captain Planet, “the power is yours!”
