[WP] "Please, no... I've only been alive for a few days..."

In my defence, I was expecting a promotion. And when that’s the case, there’s no better place to sit than the adjacent seat. So when he screamed and my ear drums reverberated on the brink of popping, I nearly shat and cried right then. “Explain yourself or you’re done,” he ordered. My face quivered amidst a bout of silence. The boss took this as an opportunity to unleash his wrath. And I let him defile me with his un-brushed breath.

Let it not be said that I went out meek and mild though. On the way out I knocked over a water cooler, keyed the bosses car, and gave the admin lady, Jenny, a piece of my mind. I understand full well that these things will work against me. But I really didn’t give a toot. Hopefully my next boss will take it as a characteristic side.

Three months of unemployment swept past. And being at home doing nothing drove me crazy. There are only so many times you can wash the car, fold the clothes, jerk off to the Kardashians, before you begin losing your mind. I had to get away to a getaway if I was going to get away from the black feeling hanging over me. Bali was my cure and would be the last of my savings put to good use.

That’s where I met Jen. Tall, brunette, exotic, and one hell of a firecracker. There’s never been a better reason to scrub up my ugly mug and shave where the sun don’t shine.

Days with her passed like the seconds on a clock. On Monday we took her pup for a walk. On Tuesday we ate ice-cream and shared a kiss. Wednesday was even better. We spent the day in her room, kinky time.

And on Thursday, I got the call that would ruin it all. “We’d like to hire you,” the man on the line said. I wanted to tell him, “Please no. . .” I’d only felt alive for a few days. But unfortunately, life doesn’t run on love. Begrudgingly, I nodded and told him yes.

When I walked back to Jen, it wasn’t the new job or the sex that played on my mind. It was the emotion. A simple feeling. The thought that this day may finish too quickly.
