The year Rockstar discovered microtransactions (repost from like a year ago, still relevant)

Why's everyone suddenly against Rockstar now. These guys brought us so many good games over the last two decades. Their games literally defined gaming for some people's childhood, teenage, and young adult years. All of their games have been 8-10s, they're an incredibly innovative studio and they effectively created and now dominate the open-world genre, with so many other series trying to imitate their games. I get people thought GTA online was stingy, but I still had a blast playing with my friends and I never had to buy a shark card or excessively troll other players online to do so. GTA V paid for itself more than enough with its SP. People complain about the MP, but i don't see why. Maybe it turned bad pretty fast for people playing without friends, but it was still ok. There was more depth to it than 80% of other MPs that are attached to SP-based games. People like to claim Naughty Dog as having dethroned Rockstar somewhat these days, but the thing is, a single Uncharted game never gave me more than 15-20 hours of gameplay. A Rockstar game, however, can usually give you upwards of 40 and still be fun at the end of that 40. I just don't get the hate these days. Its like people forget everything they did because of one online mode on one of their games.
