I am not arguing in favour of turn based combat. I am arguing that there is nothing wrong with not innovating at all and SE knows it.
It's clearly not just lore either. Races, music, scenarios, even straight up characters plucked out of old titles for no reason than to appeal for nostalgia. Yoshi P has never hidden it.
Also, your comment about Persona 5’s sales are untrue lmao."As of June 2021, the game has sold over 5 million copies worldwide, including 1.8 million Royal copies.” This is for a game that came out 6 years ago + then was re-released on almost every platform.

I said Persona 5 + Persona 5 Royal sales together and you quote me just P5R sales from last year. Nice one. You also make the claim it rereleased on every platform but actually it's PS4 exclusive until October this year.
Here's the rub: the series has never been more popular. Dragon Quest has never been more popular. These damn old JRPG fans need to stop liking turn based combat, it must be frustrating for you to be so wrong so often.
Why shouldn’t they cater to you? because it’s less profitable for them to do so and as FFXIV and Yoshi-P has already proven and said himself in interviews, there’s countless people out there that are willing to enter the world of FF when you try new things and change with the times, people like you are most likely going to buy the new games anyways, so what difference does it make if they cater to you or not?

Like you genuinely believe that new players won't like turn based battles (they didn't much like FFXV but hey ho) just because you don't.
Why do you think what worked so wonderfully with FFI to FFX somehow won't work with another new FF?
Why do you think consumers, who flock to buy games like Dragon Quest XI, wouldn't buy a turn based FF?
Why do you think people care about the battle system to such an extent SE need to change it every fucking game to appease them?
