In 1991, a teenager attacked Donald Trump's 79-year old mother and stole 14 dollars from her before he was apprehended by a truck driver named Lawrence Herbert. For this, Herbert was rewarded by Trump with dinner, a job offer, and a check which kept Herbert's home from being foreclosed.

My Father worked with someone who was also rewarded by Trump for doing something nice for him.

I forget what decade this is. 80s or 90s.

My Dad's coworker, we'll call him Tony, was driving along a major interstate in the Tristate area, stuck in traffic. Seeing a guy on the side of the highway obviously struggling with changing a tire, he pulls over to help the guy. Lo and behold, it was Trump and his driver. Tony changes the tire no problem. Tony was thrilled to have both met Trump and helped him that he couldn't wait to to tell friends and family. Problem is, he didn't think his family would believe him.

So Tony asked him if Trump would send a letter to his house basically acknowledging what happened. He gave him his name and address hoping a letter would come but not really expecting it.

A few months past and not only did Tony receive a letter but found out that Trump had completely paid off his mortgage.
