Is 225 bench not that impressive anymore?

To me it was never very impressive, it set the bar for "you're someone that is no longer general population strength". It was the benchmark for someone who put a few years in the gym, sometimes even half-assed. I hit 220lbs as a 160lb 17 year old and I knew so many friends that could go beyond me, even to 3 plates for the actual "athletes" of the school.

I didn't lift for many years and at age 23 I decided to get my nutrition and lifting right for about 3 months and I went from a 170lb 1rm to 245lbs and then quit again lol.

I just legitimately don't think it's a crazy number to acheive, any one of my friends that actually knows a sliver about training and nutrition and dedicated themselves for a small portion of their life can get to 2 plates easily.
