wow..... that doesn't sound like the best start to a new relationship!

However, everyone has a past.....

The wife and kid, okay he was young and its not his fault the wife ran off.

The closeness of this relationship with his ex is alarming though. I don't think I would feel very comfortable with how close they are and how he expresses his feelings on how it was his best and healthiest relationship.

If I were you, I would ask him how serious he was about you and if he thinks he could spend a little more time talking to you than his ex. also is it possible he will go through rough times and cut everyone out of his life like before?

Don't dive in too deep.. you don't want to be left with a broken heart.
