In reading these replies and talking about the reason swimming lessons haven’t happened I think it bothers me because their mom spends so much time telling them we are unsafe that I’m taking this very personally. I am so frustrated that she says it that I’m desperate to prove to everyone that we are safe and that my stepdaughter will be fine. But I’m also afraid she WOULDNT be fine if she fell in, which would mean our house IS unsafe so it is very important to me that she feel comfortable swimming. A lot to unpack but essentially I’m taking it personally as a validation my stepdaughter indeed feels we are unsafe like her mother says.
