AITA for abandoning my homeless best friend

Actually being homeless might be a blessing in disguise. I was homeless for a while, I don't have mental health issues but met a lot who did, and I can tell you there's a massive amount of support and opportunity for homeless people seeking help and needing care. There's a shelter in my town, one of about 12, that has certified mental health workers and are geared to help with housing placement and mental health care. And idk about every state but most have plenty of state and government funding to offer assistance to those willing to use it. Maybe being in a shelter out of any other option except for realizing that help is needed to have a better life ie meds and therapy, is exactly what she needs. I can tell you that being homeless opened my eyes and I'm grateful for hitting that wall.
