YTA for your intent to prove to us how much of an idiot your wife is. You have to let us know that she tried all the outlets in the house during a blackout? We all do stupid shit and say stupid shit and honestly it's really not that big of a deal that she was surprised about the sun/moon thing. I'm sure there are things that she knows about that you know nothing about.

I won't get too specific for anonymity but for example my mother is in a very technical, highly important field in medicine. People's lives depend on her and she's amazing at her job. One time she came home from the store and was opening all the jars before putting them away. My dad asked her what she was doing, she said, "It says refrigerate after opening!"

So yeah, people not knowing something that you know or doing something ditzy doesn't make you any better than them, and if you think she's so much beneath you intelligence wise, why did you marry her?
