I originally startes this comment thread to share my opinion that being stay at home does not make you inherently lazy as OP said but that I agreed that it had to be a joint decision and he was fine for not being on board with it. I did not come in to have my family and our life choices insulted. Yes, I do work on what others do outside of work hours so that my spouse and I have our free time during the nights and weekend. We have always been fairly simple people and this makes our life way less complicated and happier. In my original comment, I said that it was a joint decision for my spouse and I for me and that they are actually the one who first suggested it. It works very well for our family and I'm tired of people acting like it's a cardinal sin to make this decision for your own life and your own family.
