AITA for getting rid of my daughter’s dog

But the dog needed house training. that takes round the clock attention because accidents happen and they need to be cleaned up asap

I'm tired of all these posts about parents getting pets for their children and then just thinking they can be completely hands off.

No. You get a pet for your kids, you need to accept that you're going to have to step up sometimes to make sure the pet is properly cared for. that means occasional walks, feeding, cleaning messes, vet stuff, and other care/play.

age means nothing. a 16yo that has never had the chance to care for a pet before is going to slip up occasionally and need help with more advanced things like training.

This is irresponsible pet ownership AND irresponsible parenting
