AITA for leaving a restaurant

YTA: Not for leaving, but for how you left.

Yelling and swearing at the staff accomplishes a lot of things, but none of them are what you were going for. Mostly it tells the staff that you would have been a nightmare to serve either way and they are better off with you leaving.

It also proves to the rest of the patrons that you were in the wrong and makes the staff into a group of victims. You probably increased their tips from all of their other tables.

Instead you should have calmly spoken with the management and let them know that the service was unacceptable and you will not be eating there that evening. They would then have to explain to their bosses why all of that steak went in the trash. As it is the explanation is simple: "That guy was a lunatic."

You were not an asshole for leaving, that's exactly what you should have done. You just should have taken the high road out the door.
