AITA for telling my roommate that speaking a language is not a personality and she needs a new one?

YTA.

You are now the bigoted / ignorant / crazy roommate they are going to talk about forever. And they won’t be angry, or sad. It will be hilarious to them. Then eventually as they get older, they’ll feel sorry for you. Your roommate is also going to make significantly more money than you as an omniglot so she’s got that going for her as well.

We’ve all had one. My wife had a roommate who asked her if she really worshipped money (Jewish). I had one who told me it was rude that I spoke to my parents in French.

Last but not least: You can tell someone the truth (not that you were in this case) without hurting them and making them feel bad.
