I’m sensing a background in edu here. A lot of people do not get the difference between a teaching opportunity and a punishment. You gotta build toward that skill of waiting and give them the resources to accomplish the task, not just set them up for failure and then punish them when they do. The first one develops a deeper understandingly of what wait means and gives them the tools to actually wait. The later just teaches them that if you don’t wait bad things will happen.

You’re 100% correct in your assessment of the situation and that there where much more appropriate and effective ways to handle it.
