I am a Bayání, AMA

Do you believe we can be reborn or reincarnated?

In Bayan there is an idea called 'return' (raj'at), and while it is often confused with reincarnation it is really quite different. What is meant by return is the resurrection, which is new creation in the essence of earlier creation, the return occurring at both the spiritual and physical level. The physical substance returns to earth in death while the "Essence of Being" is resurrected in the next theophanic cycle of the world. This resurrection consists neither in the literal resurrection of the dead, for "The revival of a dead man, that is to say, his exit from the material tomb, cannot occur" (Persian Bayan 2:11); and it is neither literal reincarnation in which the same exact person is literally born again. Rather, return takes place in "spirit and power" (Luke 1:17).

In each cycle of the world when God makes Himself manifest this is the Day of Resurrection in Bayán, and on this Day all things return in this manner. The Primal Point even goes to the extent of saying that cups and plates shall return:

For example, this crystal cup and saucer which are now in the presence of God (by virtue of their association with the Primal Point) will rise again on the Day of Resurrection in their being, their essence, their individuality, their self, at the moment when the Tree of Reality speaks, saying: “This cup and this saucer are identical with the other cup and the other saucer (which came before)”

(Persian Bayan 2:11).
