Am I being reasonable? Looking to buy a vehicle and just need to hear others' thoughts

So to avoid the potential for expensive maintenance, you're going to spend a shitload of money on a truck that could also require expensive maintenance?

That's not WHY I'm getting a truck, but it's a side effect of it.

$800/mo x 60 months is $48k all in. You think this is going to be cheaper than continuing to drive your BMW?

No but I believe this truck will last me a lot longer than my 5 series.

Your post is a big ol' attempt to somehow justify what's CLEARLY a terrible financial decision by saying that you're following all these other common rules for managing your money.

What's wrong with it? That's the point of this post lol for people to share thoughts, not just tell me that it's bad.

If you want to do this, you should admit to yourself that you just wanna be driving a truck and fuck the consequences.

I acknowledge that this is definitely part of my reasoning for sure, but it'll also get me into something more sustainable than my 5 Series. A toyota will last way longer than my BMW, which has already been slightly expensive.

Just because you have leftover money doesn't mean you should spend it.

Yeah fuck fun, right?
