[AMA Request] Fastfood/Restaurant Workers

  1. I worked in a big chinese restaurant in my village as an dishwasher for my school internship.

  2. The days were exhausting and sometimes I just felt so hungry. I could only eat in the morning once, but then we would have this big meeting in the restaurant with every employee and managers and we would eat together around three PM. Normally we would eat rice with soup and crab salad but because I was the only dutch person there around that time sometimes they would actually make fried potato chips for me. And after that we worked six hours in the kitchen. Because I was an intern, I would get to do the shitty tasks so after six hours cleaning the dishes, being soaked in water, the cooks would give me bread or make snacks for anyone.

  3. Being forced to do things harder and faster because I was an intern, and doing a lot of shitty jobs like cleaning the whole kitchen or freezer all alone while wearing my uniform. I really hated the fact that I was mainly the only guy in the kitchen that was dutch. All the cooks and managers were chinese and they tend to speak chinese with each other, so I just couldn't mingle into the conversation. I also disliked the hours cleaning the dishes because I would be soaking wet after four hours and in case you haven't noticed, anything needs to be done quick in chinese restaurants and due to my autism and adhd I felt really pressured by the staff to go faster than I could.

  4. My weirdest story would probably be that I was cleaning the dishes again and I was having this dutch guy helping me out. I looked to my left side and I noticed an chinese employee watching asian lesbian porn which was pretty disturbing. Oh yeah, and they smoked a lot of cigarettes in the kitchen.

  5. I never had to do any special requests but I did have to prepare the takeaway foods. So let me tell this story, I was pressured again by the staff and I had to put the sauce for the bami pangang in the box. I actually threw two kinds of sauces on the meat instead of one.. Luckily nobody noticed.
