Is Amazon as bad as people say it is?

This is a really great description of it honestly. There's a bit of a slow-boiling-the-frog effect where the pressure and expectations just keep increasing, the goalposts keep moving, and your job description keeps expanding (and don't you dare say "that's not my job").

When I was thinking of leaving after 3 years I had lunch with a friend-of-a-friend who had also recently left, and she said "sometimes I wake up in the morning stressed for no reason until I remember I don't work there anymore". It may sound kinda dramatic but honestly there's just this baseline level of stress they keep you under which they use to keep squeezing more and more performance out of you.

Amazon was great for my career, but goddamn I'm glad I'm done with it.
