Ameer Vann of BROCKHAMPTON responds to accusations of statutory rape and forceful sexual advances on women.

Like Ameer being a serial cheater is human?

(Disclaimer: I'm not fully versed in this specific situation, and am not that familiar with Brockhampton)

But yeah I agree. That's his business, his partner(s?)' business, and not ours. Once we start putting every aspect of an artist under the microscope like that, it degenerates into gossip. IDGAF if one of my favourite artists is a cheater. I can even usually look minor bigotry/homophobia/racism if it was in their past and they haven't displayed a pattern of shit like that. I draw the line at things that are recent and excessive like R Kelly, Chris Brown, and XXXT obviously (I guess that's not always obvious).

But I just don't have it in me to fully vet the personality of every artist whose music I want to enjoy. It makes me very world weary to be constantly hypervigilant about these people being "problematic" and needing to "cancel" new people everyday. Obviously, sometimes it's appropriate... I've made it clear to my friends that when I have parties I'll never play R Kelly or Chris Brown... I should maybe read a little more and examine how much I really want to support Azealia Banks...

But life is hard enough already without taking on every sin of artists whose work we want to enjoy.
