Honestly nothing. The people have achieved a true representative government and just like "the people" there are those in politics that are the smartest people on the planet and there are others that I honestly don't know who puts them in their car and points towards Washington D.C.

Get rid of social media and theatrics in politics and you might have a chance.

If you wanted to fix it you would need a way to get elite candidates in office. Right now the fate of the most powerful nation on earth is in the hands of people that cry because gas prices go up a dollar. Not national security, not foreign trade agreements, not foreign policy, not complex economic policy, taxation, and infrastructure ... Fucking GAS prices.
