America will spend more on taxes in 2015 than on food, clothing, and housing combined.

I don't think your typical libertarian would say "abolish public schools today", rather they would say we need more options and more competition within schools.

So Uncle Sam attaches ~$7,000 a year to each student, and after 'count day' each school will receive funding for each student that is attending that year. So we could start by saying that each student has the option of going to any school, public or private, and still able to use that $7,000 a year towards their education. If that was the case, you would have been able to you money that was earmarked specifically for you, and you could have used it to choose the best education available to you.

Also, since we are talking about taxes here, it's not the "roads" or the "schools" that you should be getting pissed off about. Those programs only account for a relatively small portion of our National, State, and local budgets. It's the other 4 trillion a year that is being spent on special interests, foreign aid, special commissions and committees, no-bid contracts, front loaded federal programs, etc.

You may not think that that is a problem, but it pisses me off that our nations takes ~50% of all the wealth created here every year then spends it in a way that is not in accordance with the needs of most people. Imagine what America would look like if each citizen was allowed to use the wealth they create to determine what was important to them and their community instead of having to give it to the state (by force) and then have the state decide what is best for them.

There is a reason there is so much corruption in politics, it's because we give a very small group of people over $10,000,000,000,000 every year and let them decide how to spend it.
