My York heat pump / AC quit cooling and I had a service tech come out. He checked some pressures on the outside unit and said I had a leak somewhere.

As soon as he saw the air handler he told me there was going to be a problem if it was a bad coil. Of course it was a bad coil. He then told me York had been going out of business and was bought by some other company that I inferred from how he said it was somewhat shady. (I've since found out York appears to have been bought by Johnson Controls in 2005 (at least according to Wikipedia and I don't consider them shady) additionally my unit was installed in 2009 well after that sale.

He said my evaporator coil was made by Aspen and they had stopped making coils for York and I would probably need a whole new system for $10K - $15K! This sounded pretty sketchy.

I told him my unit was still under warranty so he said that the company that installed it (which has gone out of business) probably didn't register the unit so it wouldn't be covered. As it happened I had had another tech come out, from the same company he is with, and that tech replaced a part under warranty and he had left me some printout showing "Warranty Verification" which I showed him. His story then started to change a bit.

He told me there might be some sort of "drop in coil" but it could take weeks to get if they didn't have any on hand. He said he would check on that and I'm waiting to hear what he says next...

Am I being paranoid? Is anything he told me actually true? If not is it possible that this part might be available from a distributor/dealer here in Orlando, FL and I can get this fixed soon?

I've posted a couple of pictures of stickers showing model number etc if you need additional info let me know.
