Has anyone had experience selling with motorway or carwow?

I just completed sale of my car yesterday via CarWow for about £20k after I failed to sell it on Autotrader. Overall I'd give it 4 stars.

My experience was that I'd agreed to list the car and then put all the details in including nice photos etc. Make sure you have photos of any damage like scuffs to wheels, chips, scratches etc.

A day later someone called me and recommended a reserve price that was a bit below their estimate (less than a grand lower). I agreed and they confirmed it would go for auction next day. It sold at auction (you hear at 3.30pm) for exactly the reserve. A little suss but I assume the winning bidder ( a car yard) wanted the car and just bid against themself until they hit the reserve... Anyway it was £500 higher than the best trade in offer I received.

So they arranged a third party to pick up the car which took over a week and you don't get the money until the day of. The third party reported (very minor) damage back to the car yard who then tried to nickel and dime me. I told them the car was in good condition and they got a good price and would need to pay what they bid, which they eventually agreed to. Paid then and there and the guy drove off.

I would use again especially for an expensive vehicle as most people won't want to buy private as you don't offer a warranty, finance or consumer protection laws.
