These kind of arguments about dubs always fall completely flat to me for a few reasons.

First, I think it's worth mentioning that you're thinking way too much about it. I really don't get the trend of breaking down and over analyzing entertainment.

But the real problem with these kinds of arguments is that it's completely subjective. Even if the dub has a different meaning or tone behind some of the lines, maybe I like it better. Being different from the sub doesn't automatically make it bad.

However, the difference that you're trying to make doesn't really even exist in this case, as I interpreted the same thing from both. Reading between the lines isn't hard.
